New Student Information and Steps

Submitting a Visiting Application with the Office of Graduate Enrollment

Students who have not taken a graduate course with TCNJ must submit a Visiting Student Application online to the Office of Graduate Enrollment. Following your submission, you will receive an email from The Office of Graduate Enrollment with your PAWS ID and a letter of acceptance.

Visiting students (non-matriculated students) are permitted to take up to three graduate courses with OSOP. Students who plan on taking more than three graduate courses MUST apply for admissions with the Office of Graduate Enrollment before they reach the 9-credit threshold. Students will not be able to register for courses beyond the 9-credit threshold.

Reach out directly to the Office of Graduate Enrollment at graduate@tcnj.edu for questions about visiting applications (non-matriculation) or graduate applications (matriculation).

TCNJ Systems

Once students receive an email confirmation of their acceptance as a visiting student from the Office of Graduate Enrollment, they will have access to TCNJ systems, which can be accessed through TCNJ Today.

TCNJ Systems:

  1. PAWS is TCNJ’s electronic student database, where students can access grades, pay tuition, order transcripts, and apply for graduation. All students are assigned a PAWS ID after submitting either a Visiting Student Application or a graduate application for admission to a Certificate or M.Ed OSOP Program. Find PAWS help.
  2. Canvas is a course management tool that allows you to post messages and upload class materials.
  3. TCNJ Email: TCNJ sends all official communication via email, including your tuition invoice.  If you don’t plan on using your TCNJ email account, it is essential that you permanently forward TCNJ emails to another email account.

Account Lookup and/or IT Issues

Students who have difficulty accessing their account may need to update or change their password.

All TCNJ Google accounts are secured with Google 2-Step Verification. Students must set up their accounts for an extra layer of security.

Students who have been locked out of their TCNJ accounts due to not having Google 2-Step Verification must submit a ticket to the TCNJ Helpdesk.

Students who are unable to access their TCNJ accounts must contact the TCNJ ITHelpDesk at helpdesk@tcnj.edu. The Help Desk requires all students and faculty having difficulty accessing their accounts to either email (helpdesk@tcnj.edu) or call (609-771-2660) for assistance. Their new password reset policy involves conducting a Zoom call to verify a valid photo ID that matches the name on file.
