Textbook Requirements – COUNSELING

COUN 670 Counseling Theory and Techniques

Please purchase a digital version of the textbook and its accompanying student manual listed below for this course.

Corey, G. (2017). Theory and practice of counseling and psychotherapy (10th ed.). Cengage Learning.

Corey, G. (2017). Student Manual for theory and practice of counseling and psychotherapy (10th ed.). Cengage Learning.

In doing so, you will have access to CENGAGE MindTap, the publisher’s online platform with access to the required textbook and student manual listed above.

Purchase options through CENGAGE can be found on the publisher’s website – https://www.cengage.com/c/theory-and-practice-of-counseling-and-psychotherapy-enhanced-10e-corey/9780357671429PF/

COUN 515 Statistics and Research in Counseling

Counseling and Educational Research: Evaluation and Application. (4th Edition) by Rick A Houser Publisher: Sage Publications.  ISBN-13: 978-1544305066 There is an e-text that students can rent.

COUN 530 Multicultural Counseling

Duan C., & Brown, C. (2015). Becoming a Multiculturally Competent Counselor. [VitalSource Bookshelf]. Retrieved from https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/#/books/9781483389967/

COUN 675 Group Counseling

E-book that students can buy with a direct link on my CANVAS page (COUN 675).
A special note about the text (from Professor Gibson). “It is a Cengage MindTap text. Professor Seto (COUN 670) is also using a Cengage MindTap text. Students taking both Theory and Group (either section of COUN 675, Professor Couto is also using it) can purchase something called Cengage Unlimited where they can receive a 60% cost decrease for the texts and will provide access to all Cengage MindTap courses. For students taking both of these courses (COUN 670 and COUN 675) AND taking Measurement (COUN 515) this year, it is a REALLY good idea to buy the one-year version because we also use this in Measurement. There would be no cost to them for it. This information is available on my syllabus (COUN 675) and videos.
