Admission Requirements: Students applying to a graduate program

An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, college, or other approved institution.

The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) was taken within the last five years. See test waiver information.

A completed online application.

Current resume.

Two strong letters of recommendation (e.g., unequivocal endorsements and letters from supervisors familiar with the applicant’s work are weighted favorably).

Personal essay.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for applicants for whom English is a second language and who have limited experience working/learning in an English language environment.

Applicants must also meet the specific admission requirements of their selected certificate programs.

Application Process

Admission Requirements: Students applying as visiting students

Visiting students are permitted to take up to three graduate courses, allowing them to enroll in classes for professional development and/or exploratory pursuits within a graduate program.

Visiting students who plan to take more than three graduate courses must apply for admission before reaching the 9-credit threshold. Students will not be able to register for courses beyond the 9-credit threshold.

Interested students must submit a visiting student application to the Office of Graduate Enrollment.

Course Registration Information

Students must consult either their program planner (global programs or domestic programs) and/or their academic advisor for course registration advisement. OSOP publishes course schedules by academic term on their website (“courses by the terms”).

Program Modality

The graduate courses in the Global TESL/Bilingual Education Programs are offered online throughout the academic year and summer.

Transfer of Credit

A maximum of twelve graduate credits may be accepted pending approval. Transfer courses must apply to the student’s current program of study and have been completed at an institutionally accredited graduate institution within the last six years with a grade of B or higher.

Tuition

The Office of Student Accounts sends tuition invoices to students’ TCNJ email addresses on a monthly basis. Students MUST check their TCNJ Email address regularly or forward it to a preferred email address.

Please refer to OSOP’s tuition and fees.

Off-Site and Online Programs (OSOP) prohibit students from taking a course if they have an outstanding balance on their account. Tuition must be received by the deadline, either as indicated on the TCNJ billing calendar or before the OSOP course begins (for condensed classes).
