For more than 35 years, TCNJ Off-Site Graduate Programs (OSGP) has offered graduate courses for international educators in six global locations throughout the summer and during the academic year. The programs have a strong international presence and a reputation for having students and alumni who bring culturally responsive practices to their respective schools.
TCNJ has been a pioneer in off-site graduate program arena, meeting the needs of international educators pursuing graduate studies and professional development. In 1981, we launched our first global site offering Educational Leadership courses in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. In 1983, certification and master’s degree programs in the Teaching of English as a Second Language were added, and by the mid-1980s, the program had grown to enroll hundreds of students annually.
In continuing to understand and meet the needs of the international school community, OSGP expanded to offer Elementary and Secondary graduate degree programs in the early 1990s, and Special Education and Counselor Education courses in 2010. Due to global demand, today’s programs include additional summer and academic year sites—with face-to-face, condensed courses taught by faculty and adjuncts who are well-versed in the challenges of the international school setting.
